Kaizer Chiefs Ladies picked up six points from two games this past weekend to further increase their chances of promotion to the Hollywoodbets Super League next season.
On Saturday, 1 August, at Naturena Village, Unathi Mabena’s charges secured another huge margin score by thumping M.U.S.A United Ladies 5-0 in the Gauteng Sasol Women’s Provincial League.
In the earlier season meeting between the sides, the clash could not be decided as it ended in a 0-0 stalemate.
On Saturday at home, it was a different ball game for the Glamour Girls who raced into a comfortable 2-0 half-time lead courtesy of strikes from Unathi Mjijwa in the 12th minute, and Katlego Mohale’s 37th minute goal.
In the second period, Chiefs goalkeeper Lerato Mokoena converted from the spot to make it 3-0 for Amakhosazana. Star player Lumka Qhekeka made it 4-0 in the 67th minute before Sphiwe Dlamini completed the rout by making it 5-0 in the 79th minute.
Sunday afternoon’s clash at Naturena Village against JVW FC was also the second meeting between the two teams. It was the Chiefs Ladies who came out victorious with a narrow 1-0 win to complete the double over JVW after the reverse fixture ended with the same scoreline.
Nonhlanhla Maci netted the only goal of the tightly-contested tie in the 69th minute for the maximum points at home.
