Former Orlando Pirates striker Tshegofatso Mabasa has completed a move to Botola Pro champions Maghreb Association Sportive de Fès ahead of the new season.
Mabasa, 29, has been linked with several clubs since parting ways with Pirates at the end of last season, but Mas Fes, who recently won the Moroccan top-flight have won the race for his services.
Having been long-term admirers of the South African forward, iDiski Times can confirm he’s penned a three-year deal this afternoon.
The likes of Pyramids, Wydad, Raja, Kaizer Chiefs were all credited with interest in recent weeks for his services, but ‘Sniper’ will now continue his career in Fes as they build their squad to compete in the CAF Champions League.
Mabasa left Pirates only eight goals shy of their all-time record scorer, Benedict ‘Tso’ Vilakazi, departing as a clear fan favourite with six trophies and one Lesley Manyathela Golden Boot award.
Overall, Mabasa has scored 74 goals, with 11 assists in 249 games for Pirates, Bloemfontein Celtic, Sekhukhune United, Moroka Swallows and Stellenbosch FC.
