Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies opened up a 12-point at the top of the Hollywoodbets Super League standings after recording a narrow 1-0 win over University of Johannesburg (UJ) in Soweto on Sunday.

TS Galaxy Queens returned to winning ways with a 3-1 victory over Royal AM at the Solomon Mahlangu Stadium. Nomvula Kgoale, Pertule Petersen and Promise Selana were on target for the Rockets as they stayed in fifth spot with 37 points from 19 encounters, while the KwaZulu-Natal side dropped to eighth with 32 points from 21 games.

Elsewhere, City Lads piled more misery on struggling Thunderbirds Ladies with a 4-1 drubbing in the Eastern Cape derby. The Lads moved one place up to 13th place with 17 points in 20 matches while Thunderbirds remained at the foot of the table with just three points in 21 games.
