Durban Ladies were in rampant mood as they made light work of Thunderbirds Ladies with a 6-1 thrashing while Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies won 1-0 to edge ever closer to their fifth consecutive title after this past weekend’s Hollywoodbets Super League ties.
Lindelani Ladies recorded a second successive win, their fourth overall this campaign, as they look to dig themselves out of the relegation zone. The rookies narrowly defeated City Lads 1-0 in Gqeberha and reduced the point deficit between themselves and 14th placed Lads to four points with five games left to go. Lindelani remained in 15th position with 13 points while Lads are ahead of them with 17 points from 24 matches.
Sundowns Ladies narrowly saw of JVW 1-0 in Tshwane with Melinda Kgadiete netting the only goal as Queens of the Continent moved to 68 points in 25 outings. The Blue Diamonds remained in fifth position with 45 points from the same number of games.
Elsewhere, the University of Western Cape returned to winning ways, coming from a goal down to defeat TUT Matsatsantsa Ladies 2-1 away in the capital city. Nondumiso Manengela and Amogelang Motau scored for the Blues as they remained in second place on the table with 54 points with three games in hand. Matsatsantsa Ladies stayed in 11th position with 28 points from 24 games.
