Ezemvelo WFC and University of Cape Town have been promoted to the Hollywoodbets Super League after winning their respective semifinal ties at the SASOL league national championships on Friday afternoon.
The KwaZulu-Natal-based side narrowly saw off Limpopo counterparts 1-0 in the first semi-final of the week-long tournament at the Loerie Park Sports Grounds in Knysna, having come through as the best second-placed team, while Ramatlaolhe topped Group A on goal difference.

Meanwhile, UCT have shown superiority the whole competition topping Group C and thrashed their Free State varsity counterparts 4-0 in the semi-final. They become the sixth Varsity side in South Africa’s highest women’s league, joining University of Johannesburg, University of Pretoria, University of Fort Hare, Women’s CAF Champions league-bound University of Western Cape and TUT Matsatsantsa Ladies.

The two sides have gained promotion and will replace Lindelani Ladies and Thunderbirds Ladies who were relegated before the season ends and will play for pride in their last respective ties.
Both promoted teams will now battle it out to be the ultimate winner on Sunday,20 October, at the same venue with the victor of the final set to take home R200Â 000 and the runners-up R100Â 000.
