JVW FC pulled off the biggest upset in the past weekend’s Hollywoodbets Super League ties by beating Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies 2-1 while the University of Pretoria hammered Durban Ladies 4-0.
Gabriela Salgado and Jessica Wade were on target for the Blue Diamonds in Soweto as they remained in third position with 27 points in 13 outings, reducing the point difference at the top to four points. Melinda Kgadiete scored the consolation for the defending champions who retained top spot with 31 points from 13 outings.

Meanwhile, TS Galaxy Queens missed out on an opportunity get close to Sundowns at the top when they were held to 1-1 draw away at the University of Fort Hare. Kesha Hendricks scored for the Varsity side while Leandra Smeda netted for the Rockets, her 10th goal of the season which put her at the summit of the top goal scorer charts. Galaxy remained in second position with 27 points with a better goal difference than JVW while Fort Hare dropped one place to sixth on the table with 23 points from 14 encounters.
Elsewhere, Durban Ladies remained rooted at the bottom of the log after conceding four unanswered goals against UP having collected just three points in 12 games. Tuks rose two places up to ninth on the standings with 15 points from the same number of games.
