Dortmund SD Transparent On Gittens To Chelsea Transfer Talk

Borussia Dortmund Sporting Director Sebastian Kehl confirmed talks with Chelsea’s Jamie Gittens has broken down, but anything could happen in the upcoming transfer window.

The 20-year-old has reportedly agreed personal terms with the Blues, verbally, for a potential seven-year contract, but BVB and the Blues have yet to find common ground on the transfer fee, while Arsenal are also interested, according to media reports in the United Kingdom.

Since joining the Bundesliga giants from Manchester City, he’s followed in the footsteps of Jadon Sancho of becoming one of the most sought-after talents in Europe, featuring in 106 games for the first team already, scoring 16 goals with 14 assists.

“Obviously there were some talks with Chelsea, several contacts with them, at the end we couldn’t find a solution at that moment to agree, so yeah, let me see what will happen after the World Cup,” Kehl told iDiski Times about the winger.

“But we are very happy that Jamie is with us, he is an incredible player who can play different positions, he is still young and for that reason I think he is still pretty happy to be here, but I don’t know what will happen in the transfer window after the 1st of July.”

Gittens is expected to play an important part of Niko Kovac’s team in the upcoming 2025 FIFA Club World Cup in the United States of America over the coming weeks.
