UJ, Galaxy & Fort Hare Pick Up Huge Wins, Downs Ladies Extend Lead

This week’s round of the Hollywoodbets Super League saw Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies further stretch their lead at the summit to 14 points.

Nthabiseng Majiya scored the only goal of the game for the defending champions against City Lads in Gqeberha to stretch their lead to 65 points from 24 matches. Lads dropped to just above the drop zone in 14th place with 17 points from 23 games.

The University of Western Cape were held to a goalless draw by University of Pretoria in Tshwane, though they maintained their second spot with 51 points, and have three matches in hand on Sundowns. Tuks remained in sixth place with 40 points from 24 matches.

At the bottom, Lindelani Ladies gave themselves a fighting chance against relegation when they defeated Richmond Ladies 3-1 at the Princess Magogo stadium. This is only a third win of the season for the rookies who remained second from bottom with 10 points. They have reduced the point deficit from the side above them to seven with six matches left to play while United stayed in ninth place with 34 points from the same number of games.
