Defender Keegan Allan has found a new home, signing for SuperSport United after parting with Moroka Swallows, while Gabadinho Mhango and Gregory Damons renegotiated their deals with the Dube Birds.
Allan was released by the cash-strapped Dube Birds, who could not fulfill their two matches against Mamelodi Sundowns and Golden Arrows in December last year due to the clash between players and management over non-payment at the club.
The tough defender was not included in the 22 players that were released by Swallows a few weeks ago, but his deal was terminated last week.
Swallows players were demanding their salaries to be paid before Christmas but that was not fulfilled by the club, leading them to go on strike, which ultimately resulted in their Sundowns and Arrows games not to be played, leading to Swallows being fined by the PSL for bringing it to disrepute.
“Keegan Allan has joined SuperSport United,” his agent Mike Makaab of Prosport International said on Gagasi FM on Monday.
The former Mamelodi Sundowns youth product joined the Dube Birds at the beginning of last season, featuring in 21 matches last term as the Soweto giants finished inside the top eight. In all, Allan made 31 appearances for the club, scoring two goals.
Another player not included in the list of 22 players released by the club was striker Gabadinho Mhango.
Mhango, who joined Swallows from AmaZulu at the start of the season, according to Makaab, renegotiated a new deal along with that of Gregory Damons.
“Gabadinho Mhango has re-signed with Swallows. We finalised that a few days ago,” said Makaab.
“And Gregory Damons has re-signed with Swallows. So, we have sorted those issues out and the two players will commence their new deals with Swallows.”
Andile Jali and Lantshane Phalane, Makaab said, he hopes their issues will also be sorted out soon as the club dismissed them, and they are currently not training with Swallows now.
