DStv Premiership side AmaZulu are set to exercise the option on striker Sede Dion’s contract.
Dion, 30, joined Usuthu in January 2023 from Marumo Gallants just before they got relegated to the Motsepe Foundation Championship.
The Ivorian was instrumental for Gallants, aiding them to the CAF Confederation Cup knockout stages, but saw their fairytale run come to an end in the semi-finals where they were knocked out by Tanzanian outfit Young Africans.
Information received by this website states that AmaZulu are set to exercise the one-year option on Dion’s contract. His current deal is set to expire at the end of June 2024.
Dion started the 2023/24 season on an impressive note, scoring nine goals and providing one assist in 26 appearances across all competitions. He finished the season as the club’s second highest top goalscorer with four goals behind Augustine Kwem who netted seven.
AmaZulu finished the season outside the top eight for the second successive campaign even though they had a significant points-tally improvement from 2022/23.
