Breaking: Chiefs Make Decision On Co-Coaches

Kaizer Chiefs have informed their co-coaches Cedric Kaze and Khalil Ben Youssef that they will not continue next season.

The duo took over as co-coaches after Nasreddine Nabi left the club earlier on in the 2025/26 season.

At first, things were going well and Chiefs were sitting on 32 points after 15 games, as many as at the end of the 2024/25 season when they missed out on the top eight.

However, when it seemed as Amakhosi were in the title race, just five points behind Orlando Pirates at the time, they hit a low in form, which saw them lose five out of their last six games, including three successive defeats in the Betway Premiership.

In addition, they were knocked out of the Nedbank Cup and the CAF Confederations Cup, ending the club’s title hopes for 2025/26.

The duo did manage to turn things around and secure qualification for next year’s CAF Confederation Cup after finishing in third place – they collected 54 points, which is the highest points tally since 2019/20.

On Tuesday, though, the club’s leadership informed the coaches during a meeting they will not continue beyond their in June expiring contracts, iDiski Times understands.

Kaze and Ben Youssef will leave the club alongside fitness coach Majdi Safi, while the future of goalkeeper coach Ilyes Mzoughi remains in the balance.

Chiefs are now actively seeking out a new head coach for the 2026/27 season.
