Kaizer Chiefs has revived their interest in Stellenbosch FC defender Ismail Olivier Toure, iDiski Times has learnt.
Toure, 26, has been outstanding since joining Stellies at the beginning of the 2023/24 season after his exit from Marumo Gallants.
The strong centre-back had the second-most Man of the Match awards in the league last season with five, one behind Patrick Maswanganyi with six.
He also helped Stellenbosch to win their first ever trophy when they won Carling Knockout Cup in December, with Toure scoring the important equaliser before his side won the game on penalties.
Information received by this publication states that Chiefs have revived their interest in the Ivorian defender and it has been confirmed to this publication that new Amakhosi coach Nasreddine Nabi has approved the chase of Toure. However, the Phefeni Glamour Boys are yet to table an offer for Toure.
Should they go for the former Gallants defender, they will need to free up a foreign spot as they have Edson Castillo, Fiacre Ntwari, Edmilson Dove, Thatayaone Ditlhokwe and Christian Saile, with the latter two’s positions potentially under threat, as reported in this week’s iDiski Times digi-paper.
