Following Cape Town City‘s relegation confirmation to the second division, the club is in discussion to part ways with several players including captain Thamsanqa Mkhize and veteran campainers Thulani Serero, Haashim Domingo, and Fortune Makaringe.
City’s relegation came as a shock after making good signings on paper at the beginning of last season, which gave high hopes to the club’s football supporters.
Things turned out otherwise for City as they managed to win seven games, scoring the lowest number of goals which is 15, and finished in 15th place. Their relegation was confirmed after failing to win a game in the PSL Promotion Playoffs.
This publication has established that City have been trying to buy their way to back to the Betway Premiership but haven’t had any luck as of yet, and they are currently in discussion with Mkhize, Serero, Domingo, and Makaringe to part ways.
Domingo and Makaringe still have two years left on their contracts, which will mean City will have to come to a settlement agreement with them before parting ways.
