Chippa United have reached an agreement with former Orlando Pirates striker Kermit Erasmus.
Erasmus, 34, has been a free agent since leaving Pirates in May following the contract expiring.
The striker comes with vast experience as he has played for the likes of Stade Rennais and RC Lens, SuperSport United, Mamelodi Sundowns and the Buccaneers.
He won three league titles, two with Mamelodi Sundowns and one with SuperSport United, two MTN8 with Pirates and one with Sundowns as well as the Nedbank Cup.
As first reported by iDiski Times, Erasmus had been training with Chippa United since late December, and this publication can now confirm that Erasmus has signed with the Chilli Boys.
He will add value to the team as they have recently lost Elmo Kambindu to AmaZulu FC. Thabo September and Mabhuti Khenyeza will look to use the experience of Erasmus in their favor and compete for at least the top eight spots.
The former Pirates forward is expected to be available for selection in the Chilli Boys’ next match against Marumo Gallants.
