Prosport International CEO Mike Makaab has confirmed that Mamelodi Sundowns defender Katlego Mohamme has left the club to join Sekhukhune United on a season loan.
Mohamme, who was part of the Bafana Bafana B side that claimed a bronze medal at the COSAFA Cup in Durban in July, had been stranded with Sundowns in the first half of the campaign.
The 25-year-old left-sided center-back, who was previously on loan with Moroka Swallows in the 2021/22 season, only featured in eight minutes last season, a 1-1 draw against Maritzburg United in the last game of 2022/23.
“Katlego Mohamme has joined Sekhukhune United on loan,” said Makaab on the Gagasi FM on Monday.
“They have an option to take on the 25-year-old, who is a left-footed defender and hasn’t had much game-time at Sundowns. So, we are thrilled to be taking him to Sekhukhune.”
Mohamme, who was previously also with the University of Pretoria, has not played football since third-place playoff with the Bafana B side against Malawi at King Zwelithini Stadium in July.
