Former Kaizer Chiefs and Cape Town City defender Njabulo Ngcobo has secured a return to the top-flight with Siwelele FC ahead of the new season.
The 32-year-old defender left Cape Town City upon the expiry of his contract and has now been lured to Bloemfontein to add competition in Lehlohonolo Seema’s defence, as first reported by this publication.
‘Roadblock’ capped seven times by the senior international team will likely form part of a new-look backfour with the club having over 13 exits in the off-season, including veteran defender Pogiso Sanoka.
He’s penned a one-year deal with an option to extend, his agent Sboniso King Ngubane confirmed to iDiski Times on Wednesday.
Ngcobo was named the the Premier Soccer League Defender of the Season in 2021 after an outstanding campaign with the now-defunct Moroka Swallows which earned him a lucrative move to Chiefs.
