Kaizer Chiefs Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jr. has explained why Amakhosi signed Angolan international defender Inacio Miguel Ferreira dos Santos from Petro de Luanda.
Miguel, 28, joins the club after just one season with the Girabola giants, becoming the club’s fifth signing this window after Bongani Sam, Fiacre Ntwari, Rushwin Dortley and Gaston Sirino.
Kaizer Jr. has stated that the defender “will contribute significantly” as the club aim to rebuild the squad under new head coach Nasreddine Nabi.
“We are happy to have a player of Inacio Miguel’s calibre join our team,” he told the club’s media team.
“We’ve watched him and believe his experience, skill and passion for the game embody the spirit of Kaizer Chiefs and will add a lot of positives in the team.
“We believe that he will contribute significantly with his talent and are looking forward to working with him as he writes another chapter of his career in South Africa.”
Miguel penned a three-year deal and the transfer is said to be worth a reported R3.5-million.
