Kapinga Joins New Club After Pirates Exit

Former Orlando Pirates playmaker Lesedi Kapinga has secured a move to Sekhukhune United on a free transfer.

Kapinga, 29, was strongly linked with a move to Sekhukhune shortly after his exit at Pirates but the club then opted to move for Sipho Mbule, who has become available on a season-long loan from Mamelodi Sundowns.

However, iDiski Times can confirm the technical team, in a meeting with the club’s hierarchy stated the need to add further creativity to the squad to add further competition in the 10 role.

After an impressive performance by Mbule in their 2-0 win over Golden Arrows, Kapinga is now likely to bring further competition and firepower to an already exciting Babina Noko attack, that brought in Keletso Makgalwa and Andy Boyeli into the ranks.

Kapinga signed a one-year contract this week, which holds an option to extend by a further season, as he now looks to get his career back on track after failing to establish himself at Mamelodi Sundowns and Pirates over the past four years.
