Stellenbosch FC have announced the return of Qobolwakhe Sibande to the club for a second spell.
Sibande, 26, started his professional career with Stellies and now returns to the same club that got his career underway with a season-long loan deal from Egyptian Premier League side Petrojet SC.
In 2024, he was snapped up by fellow Betway Premiership outfit TS Galaxy where he spent a season-and-a-half before making the switch to join Petrojet in Egypt, making just nine appearances last season.
“I’m very excited to be back at Stellenbosch FC,” he told the club’s website.
“I was very happy to have received the call. At first I couldn’t believe it, and then the excitement kicked in because it’s an incredible opportunity for me to come back home.
“I grew up as a young player with Stellenbosch and learned a lot about football during my first spell. I’ve since gained more experience during my time away, so I’m looking forward to being back, doing my best, and using that experience to help the Club succeed.”
Sibande graduated from Stellies’ DStv Diski Challenge programme and made his senior start for the Cape Winelands outfit in 2022. He managed to make 42 appearances across all competitions and was part of the squad that won the Carling Knockout Cup in 2023.
