FCSB defender Siyabonga Ngezana has attracted interest from Ligue 1 side FC Lorient after an impressive start to life in Romania.
Ngezana, 26 joined the Romanian giants in the off-season from Kaizer Chiefs in a deal worth around €700,000, signing a five-year deal.
And after an indifferent start, in which he struggled during pre-season and took eight matches before his first league start, he profited from an injury of Romania captain Vlad Chiricheș and has not looked back.
He’s now featured in 13 matches since, starring alongside Cameroon international Joyskim Dawa as they lead the Superliga charts by five points.
Talks of FC Sherrif, who were keen on his services before his move to FCSB resurfaced, but now Lorient have also enquired about his availability.
Sources close to the player confirmed the interest but stated the Romanian club is looking for a fee in the region of €6-million.
Should any deal materialise, Chiefs will benefit from the potential move, as they hold a 10% sell-on clause, as reported by iDiski Times in October.
Lorient are currently 16th in the French top-flight but will be looking to bolster their defensive options in the upcoming transfer window in a bid to fight for survival.
