FC Barcelona have announced the signing of Spain international Dani Olmo from RB Leipzig.
Olmo, 26, was one of the standout players during Spain’s UEFA European Championship success, winning the golden boot after netting three goals and setting up two more.
He’s also been one of the standout players in the Bundesliga in recent years, scoring 17 goals and setting up 24 more in 107 appearances for Leipzig.
On Friday, Barca announced they have reached an agreement with Leipzig for his services, understood to be worth €62 million.
“FC Barcelona and RB Leipzig have reached an agreement for the transfer of Dani Olmo,” the club stated.
“The player will sign a contract with the Club for the next six seasons, until 30 June 2030, and his buy out clause is set at 500 million euros.
“Dani Omo returns to Barcelona after an absence of a decade. The striker arrived at La Masia in 2007 from neighbours Espanyol and after seven years in the Blaugrana youth system the man from Terrassa decided to further his career in Croatia, signing for Dinamo Zagreb.”
