Official: Bay Sign Son Of Bucs Legend

Richards Bay have announced their latest two arrivals, Justice Figareido and Thato Mohlamme, with the latter being a son of Orlando Pirates legend Benedict ‘Tso’ Vilakazi.

Earlier in the week, the Natal Rich Boyz already announced the signings of Marumo Gallants duo Lucky Mohomi and Letsie Koapeng, while they are also understood to have wrapped up the signing of Umsinga trio Thobani “Mtsiri” Mthembu, who is the leading goalscorer in the ABC Motsepe League play-offs, Nkululeko “Mkhulise” Miya and Bandile “Mzambiya” Ndlovu after their impressive performances at the ABC Motsepe League play-offs.

On Thursday, Bay confirmed two more new arrivals.

“Richards Bay Football Club would like to announce the new signings for the upcoming season ie. Thato Mohlamme (winger) from Uthongathi FC and Justice Figareido (striker) from All Stars FC. Welcome to the family of Natal Rich Boys,” they said on social media.

Mohlamme, the 24-year-old son of Pirates’ all-time record goal scorer and iDiskiTV analyst Tso Vilakazi, has been a standout player for Uthongathi over the past two seasons, scoring eight goals in 2022/23 and six in the campaign before. The former JDR Stars player will now look to make an impact at a higher level.

Meanwhile, Figareido is a ESwatini international and first came to prominence at Maritzburg United but struggled to find his scoring boots. The 24-year-old had spells at Mbombela United and TS Galaxy before the former Manzini Sundowns player finally found his feet at All Stars, where he played the last two season, scoring seven in 22/23.
