Mamelodi Sundowns have confirmed the exit of Junior Mendieta, who has already joined Greek side Volos NPS.
Mendieta, 31, joined Sundowns ahead of the 2023/24 campaign in a deal worth R10 million after his exploits at Stellenbosch FC.
He made 29 appearances for Masandawana, scoring two goals with three assists, lifting the African Football League and the DStv Premiership trophy, the first silverware of his career.
However, his move to Greece was announced by his new club, as previously reported by iDiski Times.
On Monday, Sundowns finally confirmed the player’s exit as well.
“Thank you and farewell Junior, we wish you all the best on your future endeavors,” the club stated.
