Wydad Athletic Club have unveiled former Mamelodi Sundowns striker Cassius Mailula, who joined the club on loan from Toronto FC.
Mailula, 23, completed a blockbuster move to Major League Soccer side Toronto FC after his breakout season with Sundowns in 2022/23.
He netted 15 goals in 34 appearances under Mokwena, but couldn’t replicate this form in the United States, making only eight appearances for the club, scoring twice.
Earlier this year, he was “loaned” to Toronto’s Reserves to gain more game-time, with Mokwena and Wydad jumping on the situation and luring him to Morocco.
On Wednesday, the Moroccan giants unveiled the South African, who also wants to revive his hopes to represent Bafana Bafana.
“Honored to join this legendary club. The journey begins now,” Mailula told his new club.
