Outspoken FCSB chairman Gigi Becali has insisted Siyabonga Ngezana could worth between €70million to €80million, if he had better technique.
A few weeks ago, Romanian publications reported that French Ligue 1 side Lorient are interested in signing Ngezana just after six months after he joined FCSB.
The deal didn’t happen after Lorient reportedly tabled a €5 million (R102 million) offer, but the Romanian giants are said to be holding out for €7 million (R142 million).
Ngezana, though, has kept his head down and continued to let his performances speak on the pitch, with his latest display earning him a fourht call-up to the Superliga Team of the Week.
Becali has now stated that if Ngezana and his Cameroonian centre-back partner Joyskim Dawa also had a good technique, they could be worth €80 million (R1.6 billion) each.
“Ask opposing players how they feel playing Ngezana and Dawa,” Becali said as per Digi Sport.
“These are panthers. No one can bow their head in front of them. If they also had technique, they were €70 – €80 million.”
FCSB are currently sitting at the top of the Superliga with 50 points after 23 matches. They are edging closer on winning their first league title since 2014/15 season, with Ngezana making 17 appearances since cemeting a spot in the starting XI.
