PSL Star Attracts Interest From Belgium

Chippa United and Nigeria goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has attracted interest from Belgium side Royale Union Saint-Galloise, iDiski Times has learnt.

It’s been a good year for Nwabali since arriving in the country. After making only six appearances in his first six months with Chilli Boyz, the 27-year-old started the current season as the first-choice goalkeeper of the club and produced several outstanding performances, which helped him to get a Nigerian national team call-up.

The former Katsina United has kept seven cleansheets this season and conceded just 14 goals in 15 appearances.

This publication understands that Royale Union Saint-Galloise are interested in signing Nwabali, as they prepare for life without their second-choice goalkeeper, Rwandan Maxime Wenssens, who could leave the club in June.

The Belgium Pro League table toppers are chasing their first ever league title in 89 years. Last season they came close but lost it on goal difference to KRC Gent.

Meanwhile, Nwabali is currently preparing for his first ever Africa Cup of Nations with Nigeria. The Chippa goalie started the Super Eagles’ final warm-up friendly when they lost 2-0 to Guinea.
