Qatari Stars League side Al-Wakrah have expressed interest in Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Teboho Mokoena.
Mokoena has been linked to several clubs over the past two seasons after emerging as one of the leading performers for club and country.
He starred with Bafana Bafana at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations and was included in the Team of the Tournament, which brought interest from Egyptian giants Al Ahly and in England, according to media reports.
It has since been suggested that Al Wakrah are keen to partner Mokoena with former Red Devils star Hamdi Fathi, who is one of three current African stars on their books alongside Algerian Mohamed Benyettou and Angola star Gelson Dala.
However, iDiski Times understands that the Sundowns asking price has cooled interest in the midfielder, who remains in talks over a new contract at the club.
Masandawana view Mokoena as an indispensable part of their squad who are preparing to bolster their ranks for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, CAF Champions Leaugue and African Football League tournaments next season.
