Sekhukhune Star Sends Warning Over Makgalwa

Sekhukhune United midfielder Pogiso Mahlangu says South Africa has not seen what Keletso Makgalwa is really capable of.

Makgalwa joined Sekhukhune in the off-season after reviving his career in the Motsepe Foundation Championship with Upington City.

The 27-year-old has long been touted as a potential star of local football having been one of the standout players in the reserve league during his time with Mamelodi Sundowns.

However, he only managed to play 37 times for the first team, scoring seven goals with two assists while embarking on five separate loan moves before his eventual exit.

The player admitted to living unprofessionally in terms of his diet and sleeping habits in the past but after scoring 10 goals in the second tier last season, he looks set for another crack at the top-flight with Babina Noko.

“About Keletso, a very nippy player, very quick, he’s… I don’t think South Africa has seen what we’ve seen on the pitch, he’s very talented,” Mahlangu said.

“For me, I would say if he can just add a bit of hard work… he’s working hard [here], he’s trying you can see. Because he came here with a bit of weight gain but he’s lost so much weight, so it shows he’s working and whatever we are doing at training is [working].

“He’s really focused and taking it very positively [going into his first season at the club].”

Makgalwa is expected to fill the void of Bafana Bafana winger Elias Mokwana who secured a big-money move to four-time African champions Esperance Sportive de Tunis.
