Mamelodi Sundowns are set to sign highly-rated AmaZulu defender Wandile Dube, who was also wanted by Orlando Pirates.
The 22-year-old centre-back has shown plenty of promise since being promoted to AmaZulu’s senior team over the past two seasons.
Dube featured 10 times across all competitions during the 2025/26 campaign, performances that attracted interest from Orlando Pirates, as previously reported by this publication.
The Buccaneers had been monitoring the young defender and even made enquiries about his availability in recent weeks, as they looked to strengthen their backline.
However, sources close to the deal indicate that Sundowns have now moved ahead in the race for his signature, as first reported by FARPost, with the Brazilians keen to add another centre-back before the close of the transfer window.
Dube has travelled to Johannesburg to undergo his medical before completing his move to the Tshwane giants and joining the team.
