Wydad Athletic Club head coach Rulani Mokwena held a crunch meeting with the club’s board this week amid the recent run of indifferent results.
Following the 4-1 defeat to Mas Fes, Wydad dropped to sixth in the league with six wins, six draws and four losses in their opening 16 games this season.
Sources have indicated that the club’s performances were discussed and assessed and the way forward is to improve results.
Mokwena reiterated to the media that he wants to continue the project, that he loves the club and he’s ready to turn things around.
However, there could be some compromise as the suggestions of appointing a Moroccan assistant coach and performance analyst have come from the board.
Mokwena will be given another month in order to improve results, with a clear points target set for their upcoming four league outings, starting with relegation-threatened MA Tétouan on Sunday.
The club’s potential transfer plans and where the squad needs to be strengthened was also part of the discussions, with Lebo Mothiba one of the potential signings, as the Bafana Bafana striker is currently undergoing an assessment at the Botola Pro side.
