Al Ahly will face Wydad Atheltic Club in the final of the CAF Champions League after beating ES Setif 6-2 on aggregate thanks to a 2-2 draw in the 2nd leg in Algiers on Saturday evening.

Mosimane is now firmly on course to secure three consecutive African Champions League titles for the Egyptian giants since his arrival in September 2020.

Ahly held a commanding 4-0 win from the first leg in Cairo and they started like a house on fire once more when Percy Tau assisted Ahmed Abdelkader for the opener just two minutes into the game.

The early goal silenced the home crowd who came in their numbers at the Stade du 5 Juillet but the visitors let the foot off the pedal on the brink of half-time as they conceded the equaliser.

Ahmed Kendouci gave Setif the glimmer of hope after an opening half that was completely controlled by the Egyptians before Riad Benayad thunderbolt on the hour mark put them ahead.

It proved to be something the home supporters could cheer about on the evening but wasn’t enough to see them advance to the final, while Mohamed Sherif went on to equalise in stoppage-time after another assist by Percy Tau.

The Red Devils will now face Wydad In Morocco on Monday, 30, May for the once-off final for Africa’s Premier League competition.
