Rhodes – It’s A Dream Come True After Debut vs Chiefs

Cape Town City debutant Jaedin Rhodes says it was a dream come true, starting his first DStv Premiership at Cape Town Stadium against Kaizer Chiefs.

The teenager was one of two new faces for City, as he and Mo May started in the 0-0 draw against Chiefs.

While May comes in after signing from Hanover Park in the lower tiers, Rhodes has been promoted after starring for the club’s DDC side.

The 19-year-old says it was an amazing experience, getting a chance to rub shoulders with players like Keegan Dolly and Khama Billiat.

“Yoh, playing against Chiefs, yoh, not only playing against them, but playing at Cape Town Stadium, it was a dream come true,” Rhodes said about his debut.

“I always used to watch from the stands, support Cape Town City.

“Now this time I played, stood next to a few big players, Khama Billiat, Keegan Dolly, players I looked up to, yoh it was really a dream come true, I couldn’t believe it.

“And coach starting me, yoh, it’s a big one. That’s pressure right there, coach put me under a lot of pressure but he told me I must just play my game, play free, musn’t be scared, be confident and all the players in my team, my teammates they helped me, they support me and ja, was a great experience.

“And honestly, I want to say thank you for God for giving me giving me the opportunity.

“That’s how it felt, it was a great experience. was lovely to play in Cape Town Stadium against Kaizer Chiefs, one of the biggest teams in South Africa.”
