Newly promoted Botswana Premier League side VTM Football Club look to tie down Sifiso Myeni and Rooi Mahamutsa to new deals, the club’s chairman told iDiski Times.
The ambitious VTM gained promotion to the Botswana top flight but they had to do it the hard way via the play-offs after missing out on automatic promotion on goal difference.
The fast growing club presented an opportunity to former Orlando Pirates winger Myeni, 35, at the beginning of 2022/23 season, while they also signed Mahamutsa, 41, midway through the campaign as they were aiming to gain promotion.
VTM FC chairman Mogomotsi Mafuta has now exclusively told iDiski Times that he is planning to keep both former Bucs players in his squad, emphasising the importance of keeping the two experienced South Africans.
“The two are integral part of our squad,” Mafuta told iDiski Times.
“They are professionals, and we need their experience without hesitation. We are going into unknown territory, as they say. Fear is a social creation.
VTM has gained a lot of recognition in South Africa, with many football supporters applauding the ambitious club for giving the two veterans an opportunity to continue playing the beautiful game and roll back the years.
