Polokwane City and Mamelodi Sundowns have announced their starting line-ups for this evening’s DStv Premiership encounter at the new Peter Mokaba Stadium.
Newcomers Polokwane City have had a decent start to the 2023/24 DStv Premiership campaign, after winning two games and losing two in their opening four matches.
Rise and Shine have a good record at home as both wins came against Cape Town Spurs and Stellenbosch FC at home.
But head coach Lehlohonolo Seema will have to dig deep when they face nearly unstoppable Sundowns, who are the only unbeaten team in the league and started with a 100% record.
Meanwhile, Downs are now the only unbeaten team in 2023 after SuperSport United lost to Lamontville Golden Arrows on Tuesday evening. Overall, Masandawana’s unbeaten run dates back to last season, with the club now going 29 matches without a defeat – 25 of them under Rulani Mokwena as head coach.
They had their best start to a new campaign with five wins and aim to keep the winning run going, which could see them open an eight-point gap at the top of the log, albeit with one game in hand.
Here is how they line up:
PLK City XI: Mathebula, Matuludi, Nikani, Nkaki, Ndlovu, Nana, Maphangule, Appolis, van Heerden, Mashikinya, Mapfumo
Subs: tbc.
Sundowns XI: Williams, Kekana, Modiba, Mvala, Coetzee, Mokoena, Maema, Allende, Zwane, Mendieta, Costa.
Subs: Onyango, Lebusa, Mashego, Seabi, Aubaas, Maboe, Mabena, Nkosi, Nku.
