Jwaneng Star Opens Up On Disallowed Goal Against Pirates

Jwaneng Galaxy wing-back Kitso Mangolo says the officials made a ‘huge mistake’ to disallow his goal against Orlando Pirates.

Mangolo appeared to have made it 2-0 only for the goal to be ruled out for off-side, much to the dismay of the home side at the Botswana National Stadium on Sunday.

It would have handed them a major advantage going into the return leg at Orlando Stadium in two weeks – with the CAF Champions League group stages on the line.

“I have the video of the goal that was disallowed and I have reviewed it many times so I think from the assistant referee he made a huge mistake,” he told iDiski Times.

“That goal was supposed to be our advantage going into the second leg at Orlando Stadium. Anyway, it’s part of the football game we carry what we have and soldier on for the second leg.”

The Botswana international defender went on the laud the quality of the South African giants but is confident they can go one further and pull off an upset again – having ousted Simba SC at the same stage of the competition two seasons ago.

“Pirates are a very good side with a pool of quality players we expected a very tough encounter against them regardless of whom we face but all in all we are going there to finish what we have started because we have not yet done,” he explained.

“Even though we have the advantage of a 1-0 lead – we know that they are going to come to us and we will make sure we execute whatever plan we will be coming up with to make sure we secure our qualification to the next round.”
