Ma-Indies Ladies gave themselves a fighting chance at survival as they picked up a point against Copperbelt Ladies in the Hollywoodbets Super League Limpopo derby in Giyani.
Both sides scored a goal each in the first half to share spoils in week 24. Ma-Indies have spent the entire season at the bottom of the log, however, the point means they now have seven points in 24 outings, four points from their nearest rivals Thunderbirds Ladies in 15th position.
The result is also important as the two bottom sides meet next week in a must win clash for either side to avoid relegation at the end of the campaign. Meanwhile, the rookies are in 12th place on the log with 21 points from 24 matches.
In De Aar, TS Galaxy Queens lost 1-0 to Richmond United to drop to sixth spot on the standings with 42 points in 22 outings. Galaxy are winless in two straight matches following a 1-1 draw with Thunderbirds last week. Richmond are now at number eight with 36 points from 23 games.
University of Pretoria won 1-0 over Coal City Wizards to move up to fifth position on the table. Maud Khumalo’s charges have collected 44 points in 23 matches in their first season so far, while the Mpumalanga based outfit are 13th with 18 points from the same number of games.
