FIFA have announced the latest world ranking with Bafana Bafana climbing one spot and reclaiming 12th position on the continent.
Bafana had dropped into 65th and 13th in Africa ahead of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations draw, which saw Hugo Broos side appear in pot three during the draw.
However, they have now reclaimed position 12 among the CAF nations and 64th worldwide after going for 11 games unbeaten and their latest draws with eSwatini and Ivory Coast.
Morocco have remained Africa’s highest-ranked team in 13th position world-wide, followed by Senegal (20) and Tunisia (32).
Algeria (33), Egypt (35) , Nigeria (40), Cameroon (43) and Mali (47) are the other African teams inside the top 50, while AFCON hosts Ivory Coast have dropped out into 52nd.
Burkina Faso (56) and Ghana (60) are the other two nations ranked above Hugo Broos’ men, while DRC have dropped from 64th into 65th place.
