Polokwane City defender Thabang Matuludi has named Kaizer Chiefs winger Pule Mmodi as one of the toughest PSL attackers he’s faced.
The 25-year-old towering defender, who can also play as a winger, joined Rise and Shine from the Dolphins FC in 2021/22, and did not disappoint in his topflight season, featuring 33 times for the Orange Army. He scored two goals and provided a single assist in all competitions as they finished in eighth spot, to set up an MTN8 quarter-final clash against Mamelodi Sundowns.
Speaking to iDiski Times writer Lethabo Kganyago in edition 161 of the newspaper, Matuludi also touched on which position he prefers playing between right-back and being a winger.

“I think [Pule] Mmodi and the TS Galaxy winger [Sphiwe] Mahlangu, who wears jersey number 11,” he told iDiski Times.
“Those are the attackers I really felt this season, they weren’t easy to deal with but they were seriously tough.
“Right now, I’m enjoying playing at right-back more than on the wing because I don’t think I still have that winger thing. But I really enjoy playing at right-back.”
