Mamelodi Sundowns co-coach Steve Komphela has reacted to a message he’s received from his former Kaizer Chiefs player Itumeleng Khune.

The goalkeeper, who played 83 times under Komphela during his spell at Naturena, had send his former coach a congrats message after he won the DStv Premiership title with Masandawana.

Khune also warned Komphela that Amakhosi would be “coming back stronger next season” to which the Downs coach responded.

“Thank you MADÉ! We are waiting by the near post, farpost well covered as well,” he wrote on twitter.

“A stronger Kaizer Chiefs, very competitive Orlando Pirates makes the Premiership stronger, the game develops further.

“It would be great to have a fierce competition with supporters in. You owe us!”

Komphela lifted his first trophy in senior management in 2020/21, while Khune’s Kaizer Chiefs sneaked into the top eight and also still have the CAF Champions League semi-final ahead of them.
