Kaizer Chiefs winger Faiz Abrahams has revealed the conversation between him and fellow attacker Wandile Duba in their Betway Premiership clash against Siwelele FC.

Abrahams, 21, has hit the ground running since joining the Glamour Boys from Stellenbosch FC on a season-long loan with an option to stay at Naturena permanently.

He has so far featured in two Betway Premiership outings racking up 45 minutes in each match.

Against Siwelele at Dobsonville Stadium on Sunday, Abrahams came off the bench to help Amakhosi take a 3-1 lead with a sublime freekick, though it was ultimately awarded as an own goal after it came off the head of goalkeeper Samukelo Xulu before finding the back of the net.

Speaking to the club’s website, Abrahams has since revealed what the brief conversation between him and Duba entailed.

“When I went to take the free kick, [Wandile] Duba told me not to cross the ball for anyone but to try and score,” he said.

“It felt great because I have been working very hard. I’m just going to keep working hard and giving my all in training. I aim to stay consistent and always keep my performance levels up.”

Amakhosi’s next league fixture will see them take the trip to Limpopo to take on Polokwane City at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday, 12 September.
