Cape Town City and South African youth international Emile Witbooi has continued his association with Roc Nation Sports International (RNSI).
The 18-year-old was pictured alongside an RNSI representative in the latest announcement, which carried the message: “The journey continues with RNSI. Excited to keep building and winning together.”
Witbooi has been on the radar of international clubs for some time, having already gained exposure to the European football environment.
The Cape Town City attacker spent time on assessment with Premier League giants Chelsea, while he has also been linked with interest from clubs including Bayern Munich and Sporting Lisbon.
Cape Town City chairman John Comitis confirmed in August that the club had received an invitation for Witbooi to visit Bayern and amidst the major media attention, the club has stood firm on the R18-million asking price.
His growing reputation was further underlined in 2025 when he was included in The Guardian’s Next Generation selection, which highlights emerging young talent from around the world.
Witbooi has also become a regular at South African youth international level. He was included in Raymond Mdaka’s Amajita squad for the COSAFA U20 Championship, having already been part of the South African U17 side that reached the U17 FIFA World Cup.
In 2025, he was particularly influential in South Africa’s Region 5 Games U20 triumph, providing three assists in the 3-0 final victory over Malawi.
The attacking midfielder has also already made history at club level, becoming Cape Town City’s youngest player to make a Betway Premiership appearance when he made his senior debut as a 16-year-old in March 2025.
His development has subsequently attracted significant attention, both domestically and abroad, which includes Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns.
For now, however, the latest RNSI announcement signals a continuation rather than a new club move, with the agency stating its excitement at “building and winning together.”
Witbooi’s next steps will be closely watched as he continues to develop his game in South Africa while maintaining links with the European football market.
