Billiat The Hero With Winner In Harare Derby

Former Kaizer Chiefs striker Khama Billiat scored and was named man of the match in the Harare Derby for Scottland FC as they narrowly beat MWOS FC 1-0 at Ngoni Stadium on Saturday.

The 35-year-old made a return to his homeland of Zimbabwe in 2024, first signing for Yadah FC before jumping ship to join newbies Scottland the following season after they gained promotion from the second division to the Zimbabwean top flight.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns man had an explosive season with Yadah FC as he made 26 appearances, scoring 13 goals and assisting another 11 to make it 24 goal contributions.

Upon joining Scottland, he contributed immensely aiding the rookies Scottland to the 2025 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League title.

This season, Billiat has again been in fine form and looks to have revived his career in Zimbabwe after his Chiefs exit, as he netted his fifth goal of the season in nine outings.

After the two teams were deadlocked at 0-0 for the first period, Scottland FC came out a different side in the second half as Billiat pounced on a defensive blunder to put Scottland ahead in the 54th minute after a well-worked break by Mafious Chihweta.

The win moved Scottland into third place behind second-placed Hardrock on the same number of points (17) and two behind leaders CAPS United.

Billiat is among a host of former Betway Premiership players who are now plying their trade at home.

The likes of Knowledge Musona, Terrence Dvjukamanja, Walter Musona and Willard Katsande just to mention a few are all in Zimbabwe.

Scottland are still unbeaten this season having won four matches and drawn five. Only Ngezi Platinum, Dynamos and Highlanders FC remain unbeaten as well.
