Kaizer Chiefs defender Thatayaone Ditlhokwe impressed at the recent AFCON qualifiers as Botswana registered back-to-back wins.
Ditlohokwe captained the Botswana national team in two victories against favoured Cape Verde, who are sitting in 65th place in the FIFA rankings, while Botswana are 147th.
The Chiefs defender was outstanding in both fixtures, leading The Zebras to two wins and two clean sheets to keep their chances of qualifying for 2025 AFCON in Morocco high.
He even assisted the only goal in the second match, which was scored by Thabang Sesinyi.
The Zebras are three points away from qualifying for back-to-back AFCONs. They will face Mauritania at home before traveling to already-qualified Egypt in Cairo in the last match of the group.
The 24-year-old is yet to feature for Amakhosi this season and is yet to make the match-day squad, having last played a match in Chiefs colors in the friendly match against Young Africans SC.
