A furious Pitso Mosimane defended former Mamelodi Sundowns player Luis Miquissone after he was asked by a journalist why he brought on the winger.
Miquissone, who joined the club from Simba SC before the campaign, has had a tough start at the Club of the Century and is yet to score a goal.
However, Al Ahly have maintained their 100% record and started the season well, sitting five points ahead of champions Zamalek already.
During the post-match press conference Mosimane got annoyed with a question about Miquissone and defended the former Downs winger.
“Amar (Hamdy) must play winger? So Luis (Miquissone) must not play? Are you serious? Why must not Luis play,” he said.
“Why when Hussein (El Shahat) comes in you don’t ask? Why when Hamdy comes you don’t ask? Why are you asking about Luis?
“Who won the free kick, where did we get the goal from? From Luis!
“Luis is a player of Al Ahly and he’ll play. Luis will play here, he has the same opportunities as Ahmed Abdelkader and El-Shahat.
“Everybody here plays and I substitute everybody, I substitute Tau, whether he scores or not, I substitute (Mohamed) Sherif. I substitute everybody, come on.
“There is no star here, we have all equal good players.
“Thank you.”
Al Ahly return to action on Thursday when they take on Smouha, who are yet to lose a game this season.
