Ivory Coast have announced a squad filled with overseas talent to face Bafana Bafana and Morocco in two upcoming friendlies.
Next year’s Africa Cup of Nations hosts have won seven of their 10 games since former France and Paris Saint-Germain assistant Jean-Louis Gasset took over from Patrice Beaumelle in May 2022.
They have lined up two high-profile friendlies, starting against Africa’s highest-ranked team Morocco on 13 October before facing South Africa on 17 October.
Gasset’s squad is picked with overseas talent, including the likes of Wilfried Zaha, Sebastien Haller and Serge Aurier, while Sekhukhune United goalkeeper Badra Ali Sangaré was also called up.
The last time these two met was in the AFCON finals in the group stages in 2019 edition in Egypt, with Nicolas Pepe’s goal from free kick deciding the tie.
