Lakay And Tau In Egypt Cup Last Four

Bafana Bafana forwards Percy Tau and Fagrie Lakay are both still in contention for the 2021/22 Egypt Cup title.

Al Ahly and Pyramids, both progressed to the last four of the competition after wins over Al Mokalwoon and National Bank of Egypt respectively.

Lakay featured 70 minutes as the lone striker for his side in their 1-0 win which saw Ramadan Sobhi net the only goal of the game.

Meanwhile, Tau came on a substitute in extra-time after the game finished 1-1 and the Red Devils ran out 4-3 winners on penalties.

Zamalek and Smouha make up the remainder of the semi-finals, which could see Tau and Lakay pitted against each other this season.

Bafana coach Hugo Broos will no doubt have a keen eye on the developments with both players expected to play integral roles during his tenure.
