Al Ahly head coach Jose Riveiro has denied he will turn to Orlando Pirates for new signings.
The club have already completed five signings agreed before Riveiro’s appointment including Ahmed Sayed Zizo, Mahmoud Trezequet, Mohamed Ali Ben Romdhane, Hamdi Fathy and Mohamed Seha – while Aliou Dieng also returns to the club after his loan deal at Al-Kholood.

But since his arrival, Egyptian media has speculated that he could turn to Pirates for new recruits – which Riveiro says won’t be the case.
“I have not requested the inclusion of any player from Orlando Pirates to Al Ahly out of respect for them, as I respect the club,” Riveiro told Al Ahly TV.
“At the moment, I do not want to rush into looking for new deals. Rather, I am focusing on preparing for the Club World Cup, after which we will accurately determine our needs.”
Riveiro’s first game in charge will be this Sunday against Mexican giants Pachuca ahead of their 2025 FIFA Club World Cup opener against Inter Miami at the Hard Rock Stadium on 15 June.
