Bafana Bafana and Malawi have announced their starting XIs for the third-place play-off at this year’s COSAFA Cup.
Morena Ramoreboli’s men lost out to defending champions Zambia in the semi-final, while Malawi got knocked out by Lesotho on penalties.
The Flames were the only team with a 100% record in the group stages after beating Zambia, Seychelles and Comoros without conceding, but failed to punish 10-men Lesotho to book their place in the final.
Meanwhile, Bafana collected seven points in Group A, having to come from behind in every game. In the semi-final, though, they scored first but still conceded twice, as Zambia advanced to the final.
The two teams have faced each other seven times, with Bafana winning six of those clashes – three of their head-to-head games went to penalties, with South Africa ending up victorious twice, while Malawi won once after spot-kicks.
