Bafana Bafana defender Ime Okon’s Bundesliga promotion dream will go down to the final day of the season after back-to-back draws in the league, leaving them in third place.
With Schalke already confirmed as league champions and promoted, the second promotion spot and third place, which takes the side to the play-offs remain up for grabs.

SV Elversberg currently occupy second, level on 59 points with Hannover, due to a superior goal difference of six goals more – while fourth placed SC Paderborn, also on 59 points, have six goals less.
With fine margins, a win for Hannover in their final league game against Nurnberg, could be enough for automatic promotion, but they also run the risk of falling out of the promotion discussion completely, in a season where they’ve spent the majority around the top four spots.
Okon has impressed in his debut season, since joining the club from SuperSport United – now Siwelele – as an ever-present figure in their back three with 25 appearances, and two goals to his name.
The final league game is scheduled to take place on Sunday, 17 May, with Hannover hosting at the Heinz von Heiden-Arena.
Meanwhile, the Amajita forward Siviwe Magidigidi is likely to remain in the Belgian second-tier, as Beerschot V.A. suffered a humiliating 6-2 semi-final playoff defeat to Lommel SK this past weekend.
