Blom Self-critical Despite Man Of The Match Award

Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Njabulo Blom was very self-critical despite being named Man of the Match in Bafana Bafana’s goalless draw with eSwatini.

Blom, 24, made his starting XI debut for the national team and featured 75 minutes in what was only his second cap for Bafana.

After the disappointing draw he was named Man of the Match, but he sounded himself surprised with the selection, admitting he didn’t have a great game.

“For me on my side, in the midfield I lost so many possessions, I lost so many balls,” he said on SABC Sport.

“I think we didn’t have the eagerness to play the balls forward. I think as a team we need to be better on the ball and try to create more chances going forward.”

“I think we should’ve done better, especially for me on my side. As I said I lost so many balls,”

“I think it’s something that we can fix as a team and move forward.”
